How do I join Voices of Hope Choir?

There are three steps involved in becoming a member of Voices of Hope.

  1. VISIT us during THREE Saturday morning rehearsals. Visitor packets are available at the registration desk so you can sing with us for several practices.
  2. If after three rehearsals you decide that you would like to be part of Voices of Hope Choir, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO AUDITION with the Director.
  3. Upon invitation to join Voices of Hope Choir, see the choir secretary who will REGISTER you, receive your bi-annual dues and check-out your music packet. Finally, women will see the wardrobe coordinator to order your outfit. Outfits must be paid for before they can be ordered. As of 2009 we have not purchased outfits.  VoH Choir wears black outfits of your choice.

How much does it cost?

Voices of Hope Choir is a not-for-profit organization and operates on an extremely modest income. Dues are $75.00 twice a year, payable in September & March. This amount may be adjusted periodically according to choir needs and increased costs of “doing business”. Upon payment of your first dues you will become an active member of Voices of Hope Choir and will be eligible to check out your music packet.

Like many community choirs, our membership dues only cover some of the many expenses needed to keep the choir viable. These expenses include office supplies, postage, rehearsal CDs, music library, printing, orchestrations, social events, performance and rehearsal costs, and media/advertising. Please note that while membership dues are used to help cover expenses of Voices of Hope Choir, they are not payment for individual music packets. These music packets remain the property of Voices of Hope Choir at all times.

By paying membership dues for Voices of Hope Choir, you acknowledge and accept your important role in Voices of Hope Choir and agree to fulfill your responsibilities that are associated with being a participant in Voices of Hope Choir.

IMG_4943In addition to dues, members will need to have black outfits for the 2009 season.  Group members may purchase outfits during our 2010 season.  See our Handbook or speak with the Outfit Coordinator for more information.
